Sacred Seasons is a program of Hiddur: The Center for Aging and Judaism of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. This initiative reflects Hiddur and RRC's longstanding commitment to bringing Jewish spiritual resources to elders. Conceived by D’vorah Lee bat-Hanina, then a student at RRC, the creation of Sacred Seasons was underwritten by the Retirement Research Foundation. The celebration kits were edited by Rabbi Deborah Waxman, and written by Waxman and Rabbi Leah Frankel Wald. Rabbi Dayle Friedman, Hiddur director, served as editorial consultant in the development of the project.
The creation of Sacred Seasons was underwritten in part by a visionary grant from the Retirement Research Foundation. The distribution of Sacred Seasons through our Web site is supported in part through a grant from the Gimprich Family Foundation. Distribution of Sacred Seasons celebration kits to chaplains and recreation therapists throughout greater Philadelphia has been made possible by The Fund for the Elderly, Fredna Creamer Family Charity Fund and the Rose P. and Robert M. Epstein Endowment Fund of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
Sacred Seasons has been piloted in demonstration sites across the country, including:
